The Orangery at Merry Hill Shopping Centre

Brierley, England

About

This Work

The architect envisioned the Orangery as a relaxing space with natural light that would provide customers with a unique dining experience. To meet this criteria, Novum proposed curved ETFE air filled pillows that cascade in both directions from the central pillow, located at the highest roof point. Novum developed the concept into an economic design by optimizing the geometry to balance steel weight, pillow size and total cost.
