The vision behind the Marischal Square development in the heart of Aberdeen was to create a new office and leisure destination which provided numerous restaurants, cafés and bars and a covered external seating area. Novum was tasked with designing and installing the impressive 3-layer AFP atrium roof, which utilised Novum’s AES System. The installation of the ETFE roof came with its fair share of complications. Due to other trade works within the building, access to the roof was restricted internally. This meant that Novum was tasked in carrying out the installation fully from roof level and without an internal mobile elevating work platform (MEWP), we utilised WP netting and rope access. Strategic coordination of deliveries, as well as the coordination needed to accommodate other trade activities onsite, was imperative to our successful completion of the atrium roof.
